After receiving a number of complaints from local residents that nightly road closures on the A87 at Munerigie had not been publicised correctly, Glengarry Community Council wrote to Transport Scotland and the contractors M.A.M who are carrying out the engineering work. We asked them to explain why there had been no recent communication regarding the works. On Friday 8/12 we received this response from M.A.M. saying that the work is now complete and the road will no longer be closed every night.
Good Afternoon Mr Cooper,
Apologies that no one has got back to you sooner. We received your email and immediately forwarded to our Project Manager, as he is immediately responsible for all public liaison.
I can confirm that the nightshift work has now been completed at the site near Invergarry. I hope that this will ease some of the concerns that you have surrounding making alternative plans.
The further points in your email, I will leave for our Project Manager to deal with. However, if there is anything further that MAM Contracting can assist with at this time, then please don’t hesitate to contact myself directly.
