is well under way

Today we have a station back and can concentrate on laying track and creating the infrastructure, building a replica signal cabin, station building and a historic carriage shed. There is a plan for an extension to the demonstration line to the west of 0.6 miles

Glengarry Community Woodlands, Glengarry Community Council and the Highland Small Communities Housing Trust (HSCHT) met on Friday 17/2/17 to discuss the upcoming sale of a block of land opposite the Invergarry community hall which has been allocated for housing development in the Development Plan for Invergarry.

At the meeting it was agreed that the HSCHT would register an interest for the land to pursue the goal of new housing for the community.  This decision had the full support of the Glengarry Community Council.  Glengarry Community Woodlands also fully supported this decision, and will now stand aside to allow the HSCHT to take this forward.

The next stage will be a Housing Needs Survey, which the HSCHT will conduct and this will be the basis of any application for the land.

If there are any questions in the meantime, please contact either Tom at the community woodland, or the Community Council.
