This email was received this morning after a very interesting telephone conversation
with a lady on a mission - I for one think that she deserves all the support we can
give her to make this dream come true.
If you want to be part of the history of Glengarry forever I whole heartedly suggest
that you make contact with her through the contact details below.
It was nice to talk to you this morning and as agreed here is my piece to put up
on the "Glengarry Life" website. I was very disappointed that the two panels in the
amazing "Prestonpans Tapestry",which dealt with Glengarry and Fort Augustus, were
worked ,one in France and one in the lowlands when there are many people in this
area who would have loved to have been involved in this wonderful piece of work. As
a result I decided to stop grumbling and ask myself "Why don't we make our own tapestry?" I
lived for all my married life in the Glen and all my children were born here where
their ancestors lived and worked for nearly 200years.
Glengarry has a rich history going back into the mists of time and I believe we could
work a wonderful tapestry and at the same time learn about our past ,get to know
each other better and have fun.
Please will anyone who is interested contact me at Saint Columba's Cottage, Fort
Augustus,PH32 4DH 01320366261. email@example.com
I do hope people will like this idea for a really interesting community project and
I look forward to the next step.
LUXURY FOOD ITEMS WANTED Inverness Gaelic Choir is holding a silent auction
to raise money for this year's MOD. I'm putting together a Luxury Food Hamper and
would be very grateful for any contributions. If you find any box, bottle or packet
that's, perhaps, left over from Christmas and is surplus to requirements (now that
you've made your New Years resolution to give up chocolate/drinking and all good
things gastronomic!), please give me a call/ email and I will arrange to pick it
